Documents reveal Italian National Police plans for October 15th 2011 demonstration

The document sent on October 14th 2011 by the Italian National Police to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other national security forces, such as the Carabinieri, Polizia Stradale and Polizia Ferroviaria, reveals the organization of a task-force to control and inhibit the massive demonstration that was going to take place one day after in Rome.

On October 15th, a demonstration which triggered violent clashes broke out, leaving at least 100 injuries and dozens of torched police vans and cars, broken shop windows and unearthed cobble stones.

The 33 pages document shows the level of control and detail the Italian National Police had on the situation: the exact number of activists coming to Rome from around the country, the way of transport they were using (including vehicle registration plates and train timetables) as well as the activist groups they were part of.
